The Velvet Trend

The Velvet Trend 8

We had a couple of sick kids around our house this weekend, so instead of doing the fun Halloween activities I had planned, we stayed at home. However, we were able to check a few things off our to do list, like sealing our driveway and cleaning up the yard. There is always some sort of project to do around the house, so it felt good to cross a few things off our list. I’m hoping this week everyone will feel better and we can go out and have something fun.

Let’s talk about the velvet trend. Do you love it? Hate it? I love it. I’m team velvet all the way. I think it can take an outfit from cute and classy to glamorous and sophisticated. Plus, there are so many easy ways to add it to your outfit, so today I’m sharing 3 velvet items to wear this season.

  1. The Velvet Bag – This is where I have embraced the trend first. I got this bag at Target and love the beautiful color, the quilted texture and gold accents.
  2. The Velvet Boots – The great thing is that they come in all styles. There are velvet boots in ankle length, mid calf and over the knee so you can get your velvet fix in a variety of different styles.
  3. The Velvet Shirt – There are so many good shirt/blouse options out there and this is where you can really glam up your outfit. Whether you want to add just a little velvet to your outfit with a lace shirt and some velvet trim or go all out with a velvet bodysuit or blouse, find what you like and have fun embracing the trend.

My Ouftit Details: Floral Blouse, Black Skinny Jeans, Black Booties (old, similar here and here), Velvet Purse, Round Sunglasses, Gold Stud Earrings.
